What does a Family Constellations Workshop group consist of?
A Family Constellations Workshop is a group process that consists of people who have decided to set up their own constellations and others who have agreed to attend as participants/representatives in the group.
What can I expect when I attend a Family Constellations Workshop?
In a small confidential and safe workshop setting, you state your issue simply, without going into the story. The facilitator will then ask you some questions about your relationship or situation to find out the important events from a Family Constellations perspective. The facilitator will have to decide if this is a present family or family of origin issue. Many present day relationship issues have their roots in our family of origin.
The group member (client) who is setting up the constellation will then be asked to pick representatives from the group to represent the main people or elements that belong to the clients issue. The client will also pick someone to represent themselves in the constellation. The client will intuitively place the representatives in the center of the room according to what feels right in that moment. After all representatives are in their place, the client will sit down and observe.
The representatives are asked to become aware of any sensations or feelings they be have while standing in the position of the people or elements that belong to the clinets issue. The representatives will feel sensations and emotioins related to the real people concerned even though they have little knowledge of their personalities or their history. The facilitator will then, through questions and observation, facilitate the dynamics of the situation and help find the best resolution for the client. The representatives are often given sentences to say to each other, that help to uncover and release the layers of emotions present and allow healing to take place.
After each constellation there is a short break for people to have some water, tea or coffee. We also take a 1 hour lunch break and usually end after the last constellation with a small meditation and more teas and coffees. ;-)

We both took so much away with us from the weekend and things have been shifting for us both over the last week. The other people in the group also touched us and new friendships we made. - Seminar Participants (Couple)
