ecl South Africa
ecl is a UK initiative which was started in 2002 with a group discussion between teachers, parents and others involved in the education system. The discussion revolved around 4 basic questions.
i) Why do children seem to lose their natural creativity as they progress through the educational system?
ii) Why do so many children struggle to learn?
iii) How has our obsession with the politics of measurement got in our way?
iv) How can we enhance our children’s learning and release their creative potential?
What was born out of this conversation was a series of experiments which turned into new approaches and ways of working in the classroom and at home. These approaches have become what is now called enhancing children’s learning. (see http://www.now-here.com/ecl/)
The results with these approaches have been very successful and now ecl is on a quest to involve like-minded people from all around the world to support and grow this unique process.
The Constellations Institute of South Africa are one of the groups that are looking to support the nowherefoundation in its quest to grow the ecl project globally and are looking for schools where we can begin to implement these ideas and support our children in their learning and development.
For this project to take off in SA, we ofcourse will need the support of the schools and financial support either from Government, schools or someone who has the means, the resources and will to invest in the future of our country…..our children.

Constellations basically look at two questions. Firstly, what entangles one family member in the fate of another and what might resolve this entanglment? Secondly, what is needed to support a free flow of love? These basic questions unfold in a multitude of different ways in constellations work. - J Schneider 2007 (ISCA Faculty Member)
