Terminology explained
The terminology used on this site may be new to you so before you get totally confused take a moment to read the short explanations below so that you can orientate yourself as you navigate through the information provided on the site. There are other longer explanations in the site but for now these should give you enough of an idea to get you started.
The Client – the term ‘the client’ is used to refer to the person who has presented an issue in a group workshop or in-fact is the client who is sitting with the counsellor, coach or facilitator in an individual session. The Client is also referred to as the Constellator; i.e the person who is setting up the constellation.
Representative – the term ‘representative’ refers to the person chosen from the group who will stand in the constellation, representing someone or something belonging to the clients system and presented issue.
Constellation – A ‘constellation’ is a 3 dimensional picture created by setting up (set up) representatives in a spacial relationship to each other in the work space.
Set up – the phrase ‘set up’ is used to describe the activity carried out by the client of positioning the representatives, objects or markers to create a constellation
Objects / Figures – objects or figures (Eg: shells, stones, Chrystal's, playmobile) would be used in an individual session by a counsellor, coach or facilitator as representatives for the clients system and issue. These objects / figures would be set up in the same way as people would be set up in a group.

Something inside me is not quite the same. I do feel different, more at peace and more calm. I also seem to be more accepting of myself. - Workshop Participant
